SHIFT: 4 -7 PM, Monday – FridayPOSITION SUMMARY: The part-time evening Desktop Support Specialist works from 4 – 7 pm, under the direct supervision of the Library Technology Team supervisor. This position provides computing and instructional technology support to medical college students, faculty and staff at the Schaffer Library of Health Sciences. Primary responsibilities include in-person support for student owned devices, the library tablet and iPad loan fleets, the Library public and lab desktop PCs and print management system, audio-visual systems and other instructional technologies in use at the college. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes but not limited to the following: - Fosters the delivery of friendly, high quality customer service within the college and library.
Participate in the provision of Library circulation desk services and nightly closing procedure.
Participate in the support and troubleshooting for student owned computing devices at the library to include; virus/malware removal, windows error messages, hard drive failures, Microsoft Office, wireless connectivity, installation of software, smartphones, iPads, etc.
Communicate regularly with Lenovo technical support in the escalation and resolution of student owned device problems that cannot be fixed on site.
Participate in the support and troubleshooting of the library Lenovo tablet loan fleet, the iPad loan fleet, library public and lab desktop PCs, print release stations, printers, MDS book scan stations, and other scanning/copying equipment
Participate in the provision of instructional technology support services such as audio-visual systems, online learning management system, audience response system
Communicate regularly with Instructional Technology team members, supervisor and Asst. Director for Instructional Technologies.
Report any issues in a timely manner, escalating time-sensitive issues as appropriate.
EDUCATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree in computing or library related field of study.
1-3 years experience delivering face to face desktop support in a Microsoft windows computing environment.
