About The Opportunity

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS - ONGOING STRIKE

GKN Aerospace Monitor Inc. is a leader in the manufacture of highly complex aerospace parts. We are accepting applications for day and night shift Assembler, Cutter Grinders, Deburrers, CNC Operators, Driver and Shipper/Receiver positions at its Amityville location, where there is an ongoing strike. Applications will be accepted for the purpose of replacing striking employees. 1st and 2nd shifts available!

Assembler

Performs work on or assembles machined parts to construct a variety of precision aircraft sub-assemblies per work instructions in accordance with blue-prints and specifications. Assembler is responsible for quality requirements of job being performed.

CutterGrinder

Programs, sets up, and operates CNC (Walter) grinding machines to sharpen cutting tools to specified, precise dimensions.

Deburrer

Processes finished machined parts prior to their assembly by cleaning, deburring, polishing or grinding, minor straightening in accordance with specifications.

CNCOperator

Set ups and operates one or more types of numerical control machines to perform any combination of machining operations, including milling, drilling, boring, reaming and tapping of work pieces to specifications.

Driver/Shipper/Receiver

Receives parts for processing, consolidates process orders, makes sure they are suitable for transportation, loads and unloads trucks, distributes product to all local process houses, operates road vehicles receives packages, packaging of finished materials and other duties of shipping and receiving personnel. Ability to operate 25ft panel (closed) truck; 14ft. flatbed truck; 30' flatbed truck to transport parts to processing, forklift truck, crate strapping machine, scale, radial arm saw, hammer, broom, closed trucks, passenger van/pickup truck and computer.
