CUNY Development Manager - Development Office in Bronx, New York

POSITION DETAILS

Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Development, the Development Manager, Campaigns and Special Events at Bronx Community College will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual campaign program with a focus on increasing annual donors and average gift amounts.

  • Work closely with the AVP and other staff to develop fundraising goals and the strategies to support priorities of the College.

  • Be responsible for planning and implementing Development communications materials including mail appeals, online solicitations, campaign and event webpages, Giving Tuesday site, and year-end material.

  • Work with Database Coordinator to actively identify annual giving prospects to move into the next giving level.

  • Work with Alumni Relations Manager to develop creative appeals, events, and programs to increase alumni giving.

  • Work with Marketing and Communications to design printed and electronic materials for Development events and appeals.

  • Maintain a portfolio of donors/prospects and solicit sponsorship support for key fundraising events.

  • Coordinate and manage all Development fundraising and cultivation events including, but not limited to Run the Bronx and the annual Gala.

  • Manage all aspects of event planning including securing venues, creating and coordinating complex planning timelines and materials, working with vendors and caterers, overseeing the production of all promotional materials, and supervising the production of mailing and guest lists.

  • Develop event budgets and track event expenses.

  • Coordinate the management and training of event staff and volunteers.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with campus wide staff.

  • Provide expert assistance and guidance to colleagues in the department and as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

The preferred candidate:

  • Possesses strong development writing and editing skills and is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point).

  • Is proficient in using email, social media and other mediums for fundraising communications and campaigns.

  • Has familiarity with using Raiser's Edge; Proficiency in Online Express.

  • Has experience developing and managing campaigns through fundraising platforms like GiveGab.

  • Has a strong working knowledge of InDesign and basic knowledge in video/photo editing software.

  • Has a demonstrated ability to work strategically and collaboratively to ensure success with meeting goals.

  • Is highly organized, exceptionally detail oriented, creative, motivated, welcomes challenges, and works hard to achieve fundraising goals and deadlines.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$61,394 - $106,700; salary commensurate with education and experience.
