Position Summary:

The Project Support Technician will work within the Network and Classroom Services enterprise VoIP infrastructure system, to complete, verify, and document phone lines and locations for every phone in every building on all the university campuses.

The incumbent will: • Possess a good working understanding of Microsoft Excel to organize and update VoIP set information in building workbooks for distribution to the individual departmental representatives in preparation of the set replacement deployment. • Assemble replacement VoIP phone sets, perform custom configurations for each set and prepare for deployment. • Arrange onsite visits with each university department to deploy over 5,200 replacement sets based on a predefined schedule. • Verify phone functionality, that the set is registered with CUCM, has the correct extension, can place a call and the customer’s workstation has network connectivity. • Provide excellent customer service and answer questions/demonstrate basic phone functionality. • Escalate advanced functionality questions to the project manager when necessary. • Perform accurate VoIP documentation and maintenance of configuration management and administrative databases. • Create reporting functionality and analyze data for proper project inventory planning, materials handling, project inventory turnover, stocking decisions, and control functions of distribution of replacement sets at all project locations.

All the duties listed below occur in a 24/7 environment, therefore, as part of your professional obligation, working extended hours, holidays, & varied hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Must have the following competencies: • Relevant customer service, office administration or business management • Demonstrated effectiveness in working with people having a broad range of skill levels and disciplinary backgrounds • Considerable physical activity may require handling objects that can weigh up to 50lbs. • Excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, leadership skills, collaboration and organizational skills

This position requires travel, candidate must demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Telephone experience (analog or VoIP) • Familiarity with computer software: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Visio • Experience with a database software package
