Bonadio Group, The Experienced Assistant to InCharge Tax Accountant in East Aurora, New York
Your accounting expertise can help our small-business clients grow! We are currently seeking an Experienced Assistant to InCharge level Accountant to play a key role on the Small Business Advisory team of the Bonadio Group’s Buffalo area, East Aurora office. This role requires the ability to continually learn and use new skills, and to work in a high-paced, changeable client-service environment.
Overall successful completion of client engagements including but not limited to compilations, reviews, and tax compliance.
Develop understanding of client’s business and aspects of client’s industry.
Prepare clear and concise working papers and financial statements.
Generate reports which identify and address areas of significant risk and evaluate overall effectiveness of operations.
Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
Develop effective working relationships with internal and external clients.
Assist with development and retention of clients, including the ability to cross-sell services.
Focus on tax planning in an effort to minimize client tax and present ongoing tax savings opportunities to clients.
Assist clients with special projects such as budgeting and cash flow projections, tax planning and sales tax.
Prepare and review complex corporate, individual and partnership tax returns.
Research complex tax issues and develop resolutions.
Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
Deliver projects/engagements on time, within budget and to client's satisfaction.
Supervise and mentor junior staff inclusive of oversight on client engagements and providing evaluative feedback.
Prepare complex client correspondence including recommendations, technical issues, and responses to taxing authorities.
Ability to work independently on bookkeeping and account reconciliations both in the office and at client locations.
Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations.
Perform month end closings.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with necessary 150 credit hours
CPA certification or significant progression towards completing certification
2+ years of relevant Small Business or Tax experience
Experience working in public accounting
Ability to provide mentoring and leadership to junior staff
Prior bookkeeping experience inclusive of QuickBooks
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite inclusive of Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Seek involvement in professional and community organizations
Ability to develop and sustain business relationships for the purpose of increasing the firm’s client base
Experience with ProSystems FX/Engagement software
Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
This is a full-time opportunity.
Frequent travel to client locations is required.
Office hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm (summer hours 8:00am – 5:00pm M-Th; 8:00am – 12:00pm Fri; ability to work additional hours during peak work periods is critical.
