SOS Shelter, Inc. Crisis Intervention Counselor in Endicott, New York
The Crisis Intervention Counselor works directly with all individuals who are victims of domestic violence and who are participating in Shelter programs. The C.I.C. provides short-term counseling and guidance, intervenes in crisis situations, and provides for the basic needs of all residents of the facility while working under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Counseling Services. Other duties include performing assessment for admissions and discharge, determining resident needs, conducting initial counseling on power and control, facilitating group counseling sessions, assisting with implementation of recovery plans, providing emergency coverage for other staff and obtaining community services from other agencies.
