Citigroup Risk ID – SVP – Risk Metrics in Getzville, New York

The SVP – Risk Metrics will work with businesses to develop metrics to gauge the top risks of the firm.  These metrics will make the process of ranking top risks more robust and will strengthen the linkage between risk identification and risk appetite. Individual will also maintain an ongoing dialogue with the businesses in order to update risk identification on a real-time basis and promote early identification and management of key emerging risks. This role will be accountable for significant direct business results in terms of enhancing business input into the risk identification program. The role necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy.  Also, this individual will participate in team decisions including resource management and allocation of work. The  SVP-Risk Metrics is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Excellent communication skills are required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.  Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Responsibilities: Analyze current set of top risks of the firm, in conjunction with relevant businesses/functions, to determine a set of relevant observable metrics which are related to or correlated with those top risks. Work with businesses/functions as well as Risk ID colleagues to capture relevant metrics on a regular basis and to display these metrics in a dashboard or other format which is made available to relevant parties within the firm. Work with colleagues on Risk Appetite team and other relevant areas to assess the firm’s appetite for top risks and to use relevant metrics to assess whether each top risk is within agreed appetite level at a given time. Deepen current Risk ID dialogue with businesses in order to update risk identification on a real-time basis and promote early identification and management of key emerging risks. Work with businesses/functions on enhancing current playbook of risk management actions that can be taken in order to manage currently identified top risks as well as emerging risks which will be identified in the future. Qualifications: 10+ years’ experience in Financial Services. Project planning and management experience. Understands wholesale and consumer financial services businesses and operating model Proven strategic thinking and analytic skills coupled with financial acumen. Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency. Able to translate data and metrics from across different constituencies in order to create clear and concise executive presentation materials. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Able to create support across a wide range of stakeholders through well-developed interpersonal and influencing capabilities. Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills. Able to work through a large, complex matrix organization; demonstrates a flexible approach and resilience to setbacks. Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries; willing to break down business and/or functional silos to optimize results. Franchise player; broad, critical thinker, self-motivated; comfortable working with ambiguity. Organizationally savvy; understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret. Pragmatic problem solver, forward thinker with independence of thought. Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Master’s degree. This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
