Glens Falls Hospital Patient Financial Services Coordinator in Glens Falls, New York

The Patient Financial Services Coordinator is responsible for providing direction and training to staff. They serve as a specialist for various revenue supporting applications. They also serve as the liaison with specific vendor and contracted companies that serve as agents for certain business office functions. The Coordinator will be the “go to” person for all PFS staff when questions arise for specific applications or agents of the business office. The Coordinator will assist the Supervisors in monitoring staff activity on specific applications and special projects.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent At least 5 years experience in Healthcare Setting Familiarity with Insurance rules and reimbursement Familiarity with Collection guidelines \

Skills/Abilities: Understanding of insurance billing requirements Familiarity with computer system usage Familiarity with CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding Familiarity with standard Data Transaction Sets Knowledge of procedures and data flow in a healthcare organization Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language Able to work in a team-oriented environment Strong knowledge of various types of insurance and specialties Ability to work independently and to be proactive in problem resolution Must have good time management skills
