Publishers Clearing House Technical Business Analyst in Jericho, New York
Publishers Clearing House (PCH) is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our team in Jericho, NY. The Technical Business Analyst’s primary focus will be to ensure that business needs are articulated as clear, detailed stories and translated into structured design specification documents as required. We are looking for someone who is a proactive problem solver who likes to understand a problem from both the business and technical perspectives.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work collaboratively with product owners, business stakeholders and engineers to define detailed stories with applicable acceptance criteria, which includes facilitating sizing sessions, design sessions, etc.
Analyze high level business requirements / user stories and translate them into lower level functional and technical requirements. This would include design documentation, system requirement specifications, user interface specifications, screen mock-ups, process and navigational flows, etc.
Create and manage a backlog of clearly defined and prioritized user stories
Become the subject matter expert in the product(s) supported and know the details of a feature inside-out.
Work alongside the development teams to ensure that these stories are built to meet the outlined acceptance criteria and exact needs of the business.
Juggle competing priorities and navigate through the technical and/or business constraints around a problem in order to drive towards a solution.
Desire to take ownership, be creative with problem solving, and pro-actively secure the objectives of the business
Act as Project Manager / ScrumMaster as needed. This includes organizing and facilitating release and sprint planning sessions, daily stand-up meetings, sprint demos, retrospectives, story grooming sessions and any other Scrum related meetings, as well as updating and maintaining in Version One.
Bachelor’s Degree required
5+ years of solid hands on business analysis required
Experience writing detailed user stories
Agile SCRUM and conventional project management experience required
Experience with and strong technical understanding of web applications a plus
Understanding of the basic fundamentals of iterative development
Solid understanding of web development environments
Skilled with the following tools: Version One, MS Office, Visio, Lucidchart
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and clearly communicate findings of analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, time management, goals setting and task prioritization abilities
Must be able to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals
Ability to garner trust from their team, other groups and business units
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
