Filtration Group Corp Manufacturing Engineer in Lancaster, New York

The Engineer will play a broad role that includes document/process control, championing lean, manufacturing support, and product development. Individual will be integral to an aggressive growth agenda for the company. Position requires frequent interaction with all members of the organization, key customers, and key vendors. This is an entry level position with opportunities for advancement throughout the corporation.

Quality and Process Control

  • Maintain and manage quality control program, including NCR and PCR documentation.

  • Develop, update and maintain library of SolidWorks models and drawings for all product lines.

  • Develop, update and maintain bills of materials and work instructions.

  • Manage and report quality metrics, such as scrap rates.

  • Lead audits by CSA, customer specific, as well as annual internal audit.


  • Champion 6S and other lean initiatives.

  • Develop continuous improvement plans with defined timeline, ROI and deliverables.


  • Support manufacturing by helping troubleshoot manufacturing problems.

  • Lead product/process changes.

  • Write capital spending requests for manufacturing/facility upgrades/expansion.

Product Development

  • Participate with product development/improvement initiatives, including design, vendor identification/evaluation, prototype production, and capabilities testing.

  • Identify opportunities to differentiate our product offerings and develop market opportunities.

  • Energetic with a broad technical perspective, business acumen, and strong communication skills.

  • Effective communication and presentation capabilities to different “customers”.

  • Positive attitude, confident, and willingness to both “think big” and manage the details.

  • Technical expertise in online, SolidWorks, and web technologies.

  • Very hands-on in defining objectives and producing deliverables in a lean organization.

  • Strong blend of quantitative and qualitative analytical, decision-making and creative problem solving skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in small business format and with key customers and key contacts in relevant industries.

  • BS in Engineering or other relevant discipline.
