JetBlue Airways Manager Sourcing Center of Excellence in Long Island City, New York

Position Summary

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing –Center of Excellence (COE)is responsible fordeveloping and implementing best in class Source to Pay processes driving greater efficiencies, higher Crewmember productivity, and increasedstakeholder satisfaction.

TheSourcing COEManagerisa highly motivated change agent able to influence across the entire organization,possessingexceptionalproject managementand negotiating skills.They will partner with the Strategic Sourcing and extended stakeholderleadership teams toimplementconsistent processes, reporting, and toolswhich willreinforcea best-in-class sourcing organization capable of creating significant and sustainable value across the company.TheSourcing COEManagerwillwork across functions and categoriestodevelop strategic processes enabling the Sourcing team to meet Financial, Service, and Quality objectivesand may manage otherCrewmembers.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sourcing leadership and teams to establish clear and measurable goals that drive continuous improvement using financial and quantitative data; define key metrics for organizationaleffectiveness; direct and develop Sourcing process disciplines and management systems necessary to achieve objectives; develop templates and tracking mechanisms to drive a best-in-class, results driven Sourcing organization

  • Collaborate with stakeholders andStrategic Sourcing Crewmemberstoidentify pain-points and process improvements in JetBlue’s current state Source-to-Pay processes

  • Support Sourcing teams with best practices, process improvements, strategies, reporting, savings pipeline development, negotiations, contracts management, policies, and technology platforms encompassing the breadth of the Source-to-Pay value chain

  • Support an environment of robust collaboration and teamwork across all internal and external stakeholders(e.g. FP&A, IT, Legal, Compliance, A/P, Marketing, and Business Partners)

  • Provide strategic support to all Sourcing teams drawing upon industry best practices and personal experience and expertise

  • Continually build capabilities and benchmark industry best practices and technologies by participating in collaborative discussions, seminars, and workshops

  • Lead process/technology sourcing initiatives to support knowledge management, identify gaps, develop and align strategies, identify potential solutions, make recommendations, and lead implementation of best-in-class sourcing platforms and practices; including data management, contract management,Business Partner relationshipmanagement,spend analytics, eProcurement andeSourcingsolutions, collaborative planning tools, and others.

  • Supportdiscussions withsenior stakeholdersowners to align on the appropriate strategy, identify potential solutions, make recommendations, and lead implementation of best-in-class business practices, processes, and technologies

  • Develop and enhance policies and procedures to support cost savings initiatives and improved compliance toJetBlue’s processes; ensuringcompliance with internal controls

  • Serve asCrewleaderto junior Crewmembers while developing their critical Sourcingprocessskills

  • Identify work for delegation and provide appropriate support and expertise to ensure work is delivered to a high standard

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, General Business, or related area  

  • Five (5)years of relevant functional experience with a focus on strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, process excellence, and project/program management

  • Experience in a fast-movingindustrywith hands-on results orientation

  • Proactive, self-starter with proven track record of driving results

  • Strong leadership abilities required, along with excellent written, verbal, analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to influenceup and across,work collaboratively, leading cross-functional teams

  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Visio and Access a plus

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test 

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Master in Business Administration

  • Previous experience in a consulting firm or in an “internal consulting” role within industry

  • Three (3) years of leadership experience

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
