The student will work with the library director on a variety of projects related to the institutional archives. The student will also have the flexibility to work with staff scientists on personal archive projects.
The student will gain experience evaluating archival collections for digitization, creating standardized archival finding aids, and working with open source information systems.
June 4, 2018 - July 27, 2018, 12 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Schedule is flexible.

This internship will allow the student some flexibility. The student will,
learn basic professional archival practices and methods
assess institutional archive collections (maps, historical papers) for conservation needs
create Encoded Archival Description (EAD) finding aids for key collection(s)
The student will work with Amy Schuler, Director of Information Services & Library.
This internship includes a stipend. We will work with academic institutions to provide credit for the internship, if applicable.
The candidates should:
have an interest in working with historical and archival materials
have excellent organizational skills
be able to work independently and communicate clearly
be familiar with common office applications (e.g. spreadsheets)
