Emerald, a leader in building dynamic market platforms that integrate live events and media, seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to support our Marketing function in all aspects of financial planning and analysis. As a key member of the FP&A team, this position provides vital expertise to ensure the financial health of Emerald’s centralized marketing organization. This position has the flexibility to be based either in San Juan Capistrano, CA or New York City, NY.

The Financial Analyst will be involved in all aspects of the Emerald financial planning and analysis function with focus on operational and analytical reporting, budget and rolling forecast cycles, financial consolidation, and various planning and analytical initiatives. The key insights provided by the Financial Analyst will support the results-oriented and performance-driven transformation of our marketing culture.

To best support a large portfolio of brands at Emerald, candidates for this position must enjoy a challenge, and be eager to learn more about the industries their portfolio supports and to advance their FP&A skills through new tasks.   • Act as day to day finance resource for Emerald’s centralized Marketing and Marketing Operations organization

  • Support the annual budget process for Emerald’s Marketing organization spanning multiple channels and products

  • Perform monthly financial forecast consolidation and variance analysis of results for Emerald’s Marketing team

  • Manage month end close process/accruals for the Marketing organization

  • Conduct monthly financial reviews using robust reporting and analytical tools to provide insight into expense trends

  • Work with Marketing leadership on the development of marketing spend Dashboard’s and KPI’s

  • Conduct ROI and spend analysis to help guide future investment decisions

  • Conduct headcount planning and analysis for the centralized Marketing and Marketing Operations organization

  • Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

  • Train marketing teams on basic financial skills as needed

  • Provide tools to streamline budgeting, forecasting and expense tracking

  • Validate and challenge marketing expenses and goals

  • BS/BA in Finance/Accounting/Economics

  • 5-10 years of experience in corporate/operations finance supporting a marketing function

  • Demonstrated financial modeling, reporting, and analytical experience in a corporate environment

  • Expert level in Excel required

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Epicor, JDE); Hyperion Planning experience a major plus

  • Exposure to data mining and working with large and complex data sets

  • Coachable and eager to learn and improve skills

  • Strong at execution with attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and associates

  • Comfortable working in a fast pace environment, able to meet deadlines, and enjoys a challenge

  • Ability to operate effectively in a cross functional team environment
