About US Rates IB Middle Office The US Rates IB Middle Office (US IBMO), a function of Rates IB Middle Office within the Global IB, provide administrative support to multi asset-classes across Sales and Trading in the US. Rates IBMO act as primary control for all transactional data quality on trade date, with specific focus on end-of-day validation and completeness checks across IB Markets. US IBMO provide additional controls to various IB Infrastructure teams (Product Control and Finance, Credit and Market Risk, Compliance and Operations). The US IBMO is one of several key contacts for our internal and external clients. IBMO help clients navigate the organization to resolve exceptions and are therefore required to develop and sustain relationships with our counterparts.
Overall Purpose of role Investment Bank Middle Office (IBMO) is primarily a first-line of defense control function, tasked with ensuring that the data flowing through the Barclays IB infrastructure is complete, timely and well controlled. The IBMO helps to ensure that the downstream functions can perform their processes with as little additional data verification and cleansing. IBMO colleagues are focusing on performing a set of T0 controls that cover trade attributes, valuation and risk production. It is also a critical role in supporting business execution and market initiatives (e.g. compressions) in what can often be a challenging. The teams remain aligned to the respective businesses and provide Support in all regions. IBMO is also charged with driving the implementation of data governance across the Investment Bank under the Consolidated Data Quality team. Through the newly created IB Data Authority which sets the standard across the Barclays Group in terms of establishing the data governance practices and processes that are critical to the successful delivery of the IB’s structural reform, technology program and increasingly being required by our regulators.
Your Role (Key Accountabilities) • Act in accordance with Barclays values; Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship • Provide overall support to Sales, Trading and TCU • Real-time or near real-time trade monitoring • Intra-Day blotter checks for completeness and accuracy of trade capture • Confirm voice executed trades, monitor Real Time Reporting, and validate trade details back to independent source. • Work with Trade Support and various Operation groups to ensure proper settlement and trade resolution of trade issues. • Perform EoD PnL and Risk tie outs back to Front Office predictions. • Ensure completeness of Risk and PVs in start-of-day reports • Primary control ensuring market data integrity is complete and accurate prior to EoD • Acknowledge differences in PnL are understood, adjusted for and explained at EoD • Ensure full compliance with all Regulatory Rules and Regulations as outlined in the firms Values.
*Basic Qualifications/Skills * • Bachelor’s Degree • 2 years of experience in Investment Banking • 2 years of Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications/Skills • Experience in Rates Middle Office • Team player • Strong communications skills • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders • Strong attention to detail • Working knowledge of OTC Interest Rate Derivative products and life cycle events. • Understanding of the Clearing processes and workflows • Understanding of the regulatory changes emanating from global regulations (US and EMEA) and the impact it will have on the processing of OTC contracts • Knowledgeable in Risk and PnL • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Ability to multi task • Self Motivated • Confident and Professional
