This Associate position in CIT Sponsor Finance provides the opportunity to work within a team construct to assist in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle-market companies supported by private equity ownership. Specifically: (i) LBO Financing, (ii) Acquisition Financing, (iii) Debt Refinancing, and (iv) Recapitalizations.

  • Analyzing detailed business and financial information of prospects

  • Working with potential borrowers, private equity teams, other Lenders, and other members of CIT underwriting team to execute approval and closing of new and existing business opportunities

  • Producing and discussing transaction approval documents

  • Building detailed financial/cash flow projection models

  • Conducting transaction due diligence, including review of data room files

  • Performing valuation analysis, conducting independent industry research studies and presenting findings to team and Credit Committees

  • Managing accounts post close

  • Bachelor's degree with courses relevant to business and financial analysis.

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial environment

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with attention to detail

  • Organizational and time management skills necessary to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to function independently and within team construct

  • Strong work ethic
