The Role:

Instrumental in ensuring that S&P Global Ratings follows policy and procedures when engaging with vendors, in particular that contracts and related documentation meet quality standards, the procurement process is efficient, and vendor risk assessments are robust.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-class support to Engagement Owners in the end-to-end vendor lifecycle, including helping with Purchase Request set-up, general queries, invoice reconciliation, and workflow tracking

  • Perform Quality Reviews on Purchase Requests to ensure standards are met

  • Monitor contract and other deadlines to ensure timely renewal or termination

  • Help drive higher standards of vendor governance reviews, including managing hot vendors

  • Help ensure vendor risk assessments are done on time and to the required standard

    • Source data, perform analysis, and create high-quality reports. This may include but is not limited to reporting for:*

    oversight committees and senior management, to support regulatory and similar requests for information, and for tracking of metrics and adherence to SLAs

  • Support (and lead as appropriate) continuous improvement initiatives and projects, including drafting and maintaining procedures, developing and delivering training, and implementing process improvements

  • Conduct user acceptance testing of the procurement (Ariba) and risk management (Hiperos) systems

  • Support control testing and risk assessment related to vendors and affiliates

  • Provide back-up support in the quality review of contracts and Vendor Risk Assessment outputs, and related activities

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7-10 Years in the Industry within the Financial Services or similar professional work environment

  • Procurement Operations knowledge

  • Strategic Sourcing and Contracting expertise

  • Vendor management experience

  • Data sourcing and manipulation expertise (i.e., strong Excel skills)

  • Knowledge of operating in a regulated entity

  • First-class communication skills, including an ability to influence stakeholders across the organization, to speak effectively in small and large-group settings, and to write clearly in internal memos, presentations and e-mails and in formal letters to regulators

  • Able to manage complexity, including in troubleshooting problems or in developing process or other solutions

  • Very high attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment

  • Flexible and accommodating work ethic in an ever-changing work schedule
