Tiffany & Co. Designer, Creative Visual Merchandising in New York, New York
The Assistant Manager, Designer will be responsible for designing and developing jewelry forms and props for in-case displays (both permanent and seasonal), in addition to seasonal installations such as shop in shops, in-store activations and exhibitions. This individual will support the Director, In-Store Presentation with the design development, coordination, and execution of project deliverables.
The Assistant Manager, Designer will assist and take direction from Director conducting design research, exploration, and developments; seeing projects through from inception to in-store installation. There will be projects that include small scale in-case displays and large scale in-store for installations to support seasonal creatives (such as Valentine’s Day or Holiday), product launches, and other promotional moments. This individual will develop design concepts for installations, considering customer flow, project goals, and overall space. S/he will liaise with Visual Merchandising team to understand form usage and current guidelines to inform new styling approaches.
This individual will be responsible for visualization. S/he will create line/3D drawings for items relating to new jewelry presentation. Additionally, s/he will create design drawings and renderings for in-store installation concepts.
The Designer will oversee prototyping. S/he will ensure vendor / internal partnership clarity by providing detailed line drawings and renderings for sampling. S/he will review and redline drawings and / or prototypes for approval of production. S/he will partner with Operations and Production teams as it relates to timelines.
S/he will present concepts to CVM leadership to vet creative development and ensure complete approval. S/he will attend meetings, take detailed notes and keep comprehensive decks up-to-date with most current design direction and information.
This individual will communicate and liase with Production teams as it relates to design intent, prototyping, and approvals. S/he will work with the Communications team to ensure assets are captured correctly in order guide and installation directives.
Lastly, this individual will oversee execution by ensuring all work is delivered in a timely manner and to the highest standard befitting of a global luxury brand. S/he will be conscious of timelines and prioritize competing tasks. S/he will identify issues and escalate appropriate parties when necessary.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in Visual Merchandising, Industrial Design/Packaging, Interior Design, Architecture and/or related field.
At least 3+ years of experience in visual merchandising design, specifically in design displays, forms, props and/or related field.
Ability to develop concepts both verbally and visually. Studies both aesthetic and function of designs with critical eye.
Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks at once.
Meticulously detail oriented and adept at design problem solving.
Deadline-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accuracy.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Strong artistic skills, including hand or computer rendering and sketching capabilities.
Fluent in Adobe Suite - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. Mac literate.
Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
Proactive, flexible, enthusiastic and strong interpersonal skills.
Comfortable in a fast paced work environment.
Experience in display, exhibit, or visual presentation design.
Understanding of a luxury retail setting; basic knowledge of jewelry, leather goods, and gifts.
Knowledge of sourcing and production methods.
