Olo Director of Employee Engagement in New York, New York

We are looking for a dynamic leader who has experience building, organizing, motivating, and developing teams. The Director of Employee Engagement will be responsible for defining and developing employee programs across human resources, learning and development, facilities, and culture. You will partner closely with the VP of People + Culture to ensure we uphold a vibrant and highly engaged workplace. You will be joining Olo at a key time in our growth with the opportunity to craft the people operations strategy - while playing a lead role in building the foundation for our next phase of growth.

This is a full-time position in downtown New York City.


  • Human Resources: Serve as an independent and trustworthy resource for employees; drive HR initiatives (performance reviews, compliance updates, and mandatory training) and maintain/evolve HR infrastructure (policies, processes, systems); ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to personnel matters. Seek to identify new areas for improvement such as incorporating peer reviews within the annual performance evaluation cycle.

  • Learning + Development: Work with a program manager to implement new learning and development programs that provide managers and employees with the necessary tools to maximize effectiveness and professional development; counsel and coach the team to ensure that we build a dynamic and diverse organization.

  • Office + Culture: Ensure values are incorporated into retention, performance reviews, meetings, and employee interactions; develop a consistent events schedule aimed at driving team cohesion; further develop the company?s diversity efforts.

  • Management: Directly manage our existing HR Generalist and Office Manager; build the Employee Engagement team to align with the needs of our growing company.


  • 8-10 years of experience working at both strategic and executional levels of People Operations/HR.

  • Extensive knowledge of HR regulations, best practices, and procedures.

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and exposure to high-growth, fast-paced, and collaborative environments.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with experience building rapport and trust quickly across departments and levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence change and manage across an organization, including at the Leadership level.

  • Experience coaching managers and teams.

  • Ability to execute in a fast-paced, startup environment with tight deadlines, changing demands, and cross-functional dependencies.

  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

  • Legally able to work in the U.S.
