Joining Microsoft in the Small, Medium and Corporate (SMC) team as the East Region General Manager you will be leading an organization of Cloud Transformation Specialists, to deliver long term relationships and value to our Corporate customers, building the momentum of transformation for our customers and partners, as well as the company itself. In this role, you will team with key stakeholders to accelerate our customers’ digital transformation and deliver on our short-term and long-term financial goals and responsibilities. In this role you, will need to be a great sales coach and leader, have a challenger mentality, be fluent in sales leadership practice and be able to lead with vision and flawless execution.


Job responsibilities:

  • As a transformational leader you will enable the transformation of Corporate field seller competencies to ensure we deliver value and satisfaction to our Corporate customers, as we enable them to make their own digital transformation to the Cloud.

  • As a sales leader you will drive the achievement of customer acquisition, revenue, consumption and customer satisfaction goals; motivate sales managers and sellers; drive excellence in deal orchestration; and foster frictionless cross-team orchestration, working across both Field and Inside Sales functions to consistently show up to our customers as One Microsoft.

  • As a Partner advocate, you will drive scale to our business through partner co–selling motions.

  • As a People Leader, you will attract and lead a diverse and inclusive high-impact sales organization; develop and foster talent, develop an inspirational coaching culture that empowers our people to deliver and learn.

  • As an Innovator, you will demonstrate continuous sharing of learning and insight within the sales organization and across other teams and headquarters; through role modeling, you will inspire a growth mindset environment.


Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:

  • 10+ years of related experience: Senior sales leadership roles, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, coaching solution sales and account development strategies, past experience in leadership roles within multi-tiered large organizations

  • Proven track record and experience leading sales teams, selling and delivering complex solutions to commercial customers

  • Proven track record and experience leading through organizational transformation while delivering on short-term results

  • Strategic leadership with a track record driving results faster than competition in new markets/solution areas (preferred: cloud growth and consumption)

  • Strong leadership & interpersonal skills, coaching skills, cross-group collaboration and proven ability to influence across organizational boundaries

  • Talent attractor with proven history attracting and developing managers and employees

  • Meaningful non-Microsoft prior work experience at one of the following: competing Cloud and software companies, particularly Oracle, IBM,, VMWare, Cisco, AMZN

  • Bachelor’s degree desired, MBA desired

  • Experienced in complex sales training (e.g., Miller Hyman, Spin, Michael Bosworth, Challenger, Holden, Krauthammer, etc.), sales methodologies, broad evangelism through events (presentation skills), effective marketing tactics, negotiation, financial analysis, industry knowledge.
