RRD's Global Outsourcing division has an exciting HEAD of AGENCY opportunity. As head of agency roles go, this is as broad as they come. It is a rare challenge for an agency heavyweight to step up and stand out!
This senior role will provide leadership of a new joint-venture creative agency between the client and RRD.
The role will lead the delivery of the client’s communication strategy globally and across all mediums from digital to presentations.
The role will be expected to provide strong leadership - both in their dealings with key clients and stakeholders, and to the agency leadership team, setting strategic direction, driving a creative culture and ensuring that creative and operations work in harmony to deliver an exceptional global service.
The head of agency role for this NYC agency isn't for the faint hearted. You'll need to lead and inspire all around you. That means big teams as well as department heads across creative, digital, planning and studio.
You will engage senior clients in marketing, digital and corporate services, ensuring their business and communication objectives can be met by the agency
You'll attract and develop the best talent for the agency and constantly seek to strengthen the proposition, including - Creative Director, Digital Director, Content Lead and Account Management leads that will make the agency a best-in-class operation
Having hired the leadership team, lead that team to ensure consistently excellent performance on all aspects of the contracted service
Set the strategy for the agency and define how it will deliver on the client’s requirements
Set the cultural tone for the Global agency, how it will behave while delivering the diverse services
Ensure the agency performs to the agreed financial measures and service levels
Grow the agency - with the client we expect there to be departments and regions that operate outside the central services agreement and that provides an opportunity for organic growth
Champion technology and how it can be applied to ensure efficiency and growth
Work with other RRD teams to ensure the agency succeeds. Typical engagements will be with Global Outsourcing (who manage presentation delivery in Asia) and central services such as IT, finance, HR and legal
Build a network of advisers and consultants who can support the agency in the delivery of its objectives
Promote the agency, internally and within the Creative industry

The candidate is required to be familiar with the process and challenges of creating and delivering creative projects using the industry standard methods and tools.
The candidate will demonstrate a keen interest in emerging technologies and how they may affect the role and the performance of duties, as well as understanding the effect those technologies have on the work we are required to do for our clients.
Will lead by example, inspire your creative teams plus create and embed a strong creative culture and drive for creative excellence.
Demonstrate the ability to connect with and build a network of creative industry commentators and industry publications, for example ad week, campaign, the drum etc.
The candidate for this position must have exceptional leadership skills, portraying an ability to lead a cross-functional group in a unified direction as well as an ability to influence top business leadership and executives. They must be a people person, demonstrating an ability to form strong and meaningful connections with others, be approachable and relatable which will allow team members and collaborating personnel to easily follow and trust directives and insights.
A candidate for this position must be a results-driven individual, they must be a strategic and creative thinker, be highly analytical, be highly organized, be able to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and meet aggressive deadlines, be a team player, be comfortable working in cross-functional settings, be comfortable working with business executives and top leadership, be proactive and a self-starter, and have an ability to stay calm in times of adversity and uncertainty.
Candidates must have 5+ years experience in a lead role as a creative director or digital design director in a respected, brand-led agency and be au-fait with the challenge, responsibility and opportunity a role like this brings.
Experience working with Financial Services companies and an understanding of the methods and challenges of the Financial Services industry is desirable.
Must have a portfolio bursting with successful brand led projects demonstrating strong ROI across both print and digital channels.
The candidate is required to be educated to degree-standard or have the equivalent in work experience in a communications, advertising or digital agency.
The candidate will also have extensive experience solving complex communication issues to support clients business objectives and be comfortable working with C-level clients on complex tasks and projects.
HOURS: Based in New York (flexibility in working pattern and location will be required). The successful applicant must also be prepared for international travel as required and can expect to travel to Europe and Asia.
