Clinical Trials Nurse Leader
MSK conducts one of the world’s largest clinical cancer research programs with patients and researchers typically involved in more than 900 total clinical trials at any given time. Teams of scientists and clinicians are united in a common pursuit: to transform our understanding of cancer and how we care for those affected by the disease. Clinical Trials Nurses (CTN), Clinical Trials Nurse Practitioners (CTNP) and Clinical Trials Nurse Leaders (CTNL) support the mission by providing care and continuity to clinical trial participants across settings- inpatient, outpatient, and Regional Care Network.
Clinical Trials Nurses/NPs (CTN/NP) integrate their expertise into the care of clinical trial participants, ensuring compliance with protocol procedures, assessments, and symptom management. Most importantly, the CTN/NP acts as patient advocate, ensuring adherence to ethical practices during the conduct of clinical trials to protect the rights and well-being of patients and the collection and reporting of quality data. We contribute scientific knowledge, critical thinking skills, and care coordination to the interdisciplinary team and support early phase clinical trials where timely translation of research evidence into practice is an integral part of the MSK research mission.
