Graybar Outside Sales Representative - Commercial Market in New York, New York

Consider this. Our Outside Sales Representatives work on some of the most interesting and prolific projects in our industry. Graybar is looking for a new Outside Sales Representative in New York, NY, to sell our products and services specializing in the Commercial / Institutional / Government (CIG) market. You will develop new prospects and maintain contact with established customers, regularly visiting them at their site of business or other off-site locations. If connecting personally with your customers and delivering the best service in the industry is your priority, we are looking for you.

The position is based out of our New York City branch and your territory consists of the 5 boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens and the Bronx) plus Long Island.

In this role you will:

  • Meet or exceed assigned annual budgets working in assigned territory
  • Drive sales and merchandise programs, provide input on new products and services
  • Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and recommending Graybar services and programs tailored to their business objectives
  • Participate in training sessions, trade shows and sales meetings
  • Ensure up-to-date, accurate customer records including reports of business transactions

*What you bring to the table: * * Minimum of 5 years of experience required; 6-10 years' preferred * Bachelor's degree preferred * Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing * Proven negotiation skills * Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals * Ability to sell and be persuasive
