Credit Suisse Sourcing & Vendor Management - IT Vendor Manager # 113299 in New York, New York

As a next step in the evolution of Credit Suisse’s Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) framework, the bank’s Sourcing & Vendor Management (SVM) function aims to increase its vendor management capabilities covering the bank’s key operational vendors by establishing the Vendor Management Office (VMO). The VMO will work with divisions and corporate functions across the bank to deliver a consolidated/aggregated vendor view that enables Credit Suisse (CS) to better manage overall value, risk and performance of its vendor relationships.

The Outsourcing Vendor Manager role will directly manage specific vendor relationships and also partner with Vendor Managers situated within the CS business divisions/functions (encompassing multiple global contracts). The main focus will be on Vendor Relationship Management, Performance Management, Governance and Financial Management activities within the overall VMO framework.

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • VMO Implementation: during first approx. 6-12 months of 2018, support the strategic evolution and the execution of the VMO implementation in close partnership with the Head of the VMO, respective VMO team leads and divisional stakeholders

  • Vendor Governance: oversight of governance structure and key contacts (including roles/responsibilities) to ensure the appropriate vendor interaction takes place to support the VMO framework

  • Stakeholder Governance: drive internal CS stakeholder compliance with VMO framework; continuously inform and engage with stakeholders involved in vendor relationships (i.e. SVM Sourcing, SVM TPRM, CS business divisions/functions) and act as an advisor to contract managers (who will be situated directly within the CS business divisions/functions)

  • Vendor Performance Management: monitor productivity and quality performance against contractual obligations to ensure overall effectiveness of vendor provided services

  • Alignment with Sourcing Strategies: collaborate with SVM Sourcing to ensure vendor performance and strategic direction is aligned to respective category sourcing strategies

  • Issue & Dispute Management: ensure vendor performance issues and disputes are tracked, managed and resolved by means of a standardized process

  • Continuous Improvement: drive the continuous improvement activities by means of root cause analysis and pattern analysis of key vendor issues; collaboration with cross-functional internal and external functions to aid the design and implementation of VMO enhancements over time

  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: measure, manage and report on stakeholder satisfaction related to each vendor relationship

  • Monitoring & Reporting: enable continuous monitoring of vendor performance against contractual service level agreements through creation of vendor performance dashboards, scorecards and/or reports

  • Forecasting & Demand: support Divisions/Corporate functions as necessary to ensure there is appropriate demand management, management of vendor budgets, and monitor progress from a vendor and a business case perspective

  • Prior experience managing large, complex Outsourcing contracts

  • Minimum 10 years of overall work experience and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Vendor Management, Sourcing, in-house Legal or Operational Risk role(s)

  • Ability to review, draft, negotiate, and manage a range of third-party agreements incl. the ability to advise internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation strategies; identify and address legal and business risks; ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements

  • Expert communication and relationship-management skills, incl. the ability to partner with and influence colleagues and vendors at all title levels

  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills

  • Solid project management and organization skills

  • Prior experience working collaboratively with internal control functions

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is beneficial
