Research lab technician position in the Division of Molecular Genetics and the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center

to assist in projects related to sympathetic regulation of brown adipose tissue activity. Duties will include mouse husbandry and genotyping, development of in vivo assays in mice, as well as assisting lab-members with experiments. S/He will conduct experiments according to written instructions, participate in organizing the laboratory, place orders, and prepare lab solutions, and maintain lab notebooks and record related to work.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Special Instructions

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in basic laboratory procedures (i.e. PCR and ELISA assays) and in working with mice is essential.

Organizational skills and excellent communication skills are required. Ability to read, speak, and communicate effectively in English with lab vendors.

Should be organized, thorough, maintain good records, and able to work independently. Should have basic computer skills and be able to use Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
