Excellent long term position with potential for hire!
Shift & Compensation:
3rd shift - Alternating 12 hr schedule 7:15pm to 7:45 am
Week 1: Sun, Wed, Thurs,
Week 2: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat.
Schedule could vary slightly need flexibility for 48 work weeks each week.
Pay range is $15 to $18 depending on experience
Main Responsibility statement:
Under the direction of the Department Supervisor and/or Shift Group Leader, the Packaging Operator is responsible for packaging hydrolyzed protein batches according to requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Package hydrolysate batches at a minimum of time, while maintaining the quality of finished product and packaging appearance.
Know and use proper maintenance and cleaning procedures for packaging equipment.
Make sure packager is set up properly for the batch to be run through it, examine screens, ensure correct tare weight, package material.
Individual is expected to keep their area in a proper state of cleanliness and in an orderly fashion.
Individual should be able to operate forklift truck in a safe manner and use proper safety measures.
Run packaging system if drums are coming off at more than 20 minutes per drum.
Must be able to lift 50 lb. bags or boxes once per minute.
Complete Master Batch Record, Logbooks and other documentation clearly and accurately.
Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety work behaviors, promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents.
May be required to handle hazardous waste (internal training provided).
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Keep supervisor advised of supplies that are getting to minimum supply for the packaging room.
Individual will be required to assist other operators with certain jobs from time to time such as cleaning filter presses, relieving other operators for breaks, or operate any piece of equipment in any department as needed.
During periods of down time, individual is expected to do general departmental maintenance, such as painting, cleaning and operational maintenance of department machinery.
The above list does not limit the duties or responsibilities of the operator to those specifically mentioned above. The individual may be used in any department any day of the week.
Have a good working knowledge of arithmetic and be confident in its use.
Be neat and consistent in whatever this individual does.
Be able to write clearly and legibly.
Be able to read and understand written instructions from the department supervisor or shift group leader.
Be capable of strict adherence to company policies and yet able to use common sense in making many daily decisions required in this position.
Individual should be capable of adjusting their work schedule to the requirements of the department.
Individual should realize that overtime is sometimes required in order to complete a particular batch or batching sequence.
Previous knowledge in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of multiple jobs preferred
Demonstrated ability to multitask
Leads by influence
