Summary of Position:

An employee in this position is responsible to provide direct support to the individuals residing in the residential programs at CRVI. In this position you are not hired for a particular site, you are expected to be flexible and prepared to provide services/supports

to many residential programs. Assignments will be assigned by the Program Manager based on need of a particular team. As a Relief DSP you are expected to provide a safe, nurturing environment for individuals we support and serve as a role model, advocate

and teacher.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Promote an environment that encourages independence and individualization in all aspects of the individuals’ we support lives.

  • Responsible for the well-being of the individuals in the residential setting. Exhibits sensitivity to and respects the rights of the individuals served, including their emotional and physical needs.

  • Participates in a full range of recreational activities. Facilitates community integration and inclusion by participating in activities of interest to individuals supported.

  • Provide training, supervision, assistance and monitoring in areas related to the acquisition and retention of daily living skills and self-care skills.

  • Responsible for completing the data collection during shift.

  • Responsible for ensuring the physical plant environment is safe at all times.

  • Responsible for completing at least four (8) hour shifts per month and a minimum of two major holidays per year (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year’s).

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Clean, valid drivers license.

  • Successfully meet all screening requirements (both prior to hire and during employment) as required by applicable regulation.
