Cobham Mission Systems inOrchard Park, NY is seeking a Materials Manager.
Responsible for all materialcontrol and transactions from Receiving through accurate delivery toManufacturing cells and other internal customers.
To develop and manage a high quality material control processescapable of supporting the needs of the business unit.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (DOT, ATF,DOL, exports) while achieving cost, quality, delivery & Inventory goals forthe organization.
To build a high performing team through recruitment, training anddevelopment of personnel
Manage all docks and ensure proper safety, timely receipts, propertransactions, count verification from Suppliers and documentation processes areconducted.
Ensure a robust stocking process with the ability to efficientlytrack and retrieve all material within expected lead times
Maintain and enhance job kitting fulfillment processes, ensuringinternal turnaround times are met to achieve On Time Delivery to internal andexternal Customers
Drive root cause and corrective actions for any material deliverydiscrepancies to internal Customers
Maintain high inventory accuracy through various techniquesincluding inventory audits, annual physical inventory, and cycle counting.
Coordinate milk runs from the 10 Center to 10 Cobham facility,ensuring timely and frequent delivery of material on a just in time schedule.
Ensure regulatory guidelines (DOT, ATF, DOL) for proper packagingand shipment of product are adhered to at all times.
Manage and maintain all equipment necessary to enable timelymaterial flow and delivery (vehicles, IT equipment and material handlingequipment)
Manage government property program, ensuring inventory accuracyand proper FAR protocols are followed to ensure audits are successful.
Manage the day to day operations for the Warehouse, ensuringproper processes are in place to track all transactions in / out to ensureaccurate records and locations.
Ensure a safe work environment exists with good 5S practices andsafe loading procedures adhered to.
Work closely with multiple functions to ensure Warehouse items areperiodically (at least every 6 months) reviewed by functional owners fordisposition on future use / proper disposal methods.
Manage government property requirements and proper storage ofbonded stock areas.
Managing all day to day material delivery receipts, stocking,kitting and milk runs, ensuring inventory accuracy and on time deliveries toProduction.
Ensuring Regulatory guidelines are always adhered to includingdeep knowledge of DOT, ATF and DOL requirements for hazardous materialtransfers and storage
Continuous Improvement, 5S, Root Cause Problem Solving andStandard Work.
Developing direct reports; setting clear objectives; managingperformance; developing skills and competences
Performing all operations according to prescribed SHE principles
Coordination with Manufacturing and planning teams, ensuringoptimal On Time Delivery metrics (both internal and external)
Supervisory Responsibilities: Receiving, Stockroom and Warehouse personnel
Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, relatedfield, or 15 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 5 years of experience working in a productionenvironment/inventory management in mechanical/aerospace
Minimum 2 years resource managing and leading warehouseoperations& personnel
Experience planning & optimizing the flow and control ofinventory
Experience in Inventory management
This position requiresaccess to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled byexport laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizenor Permanent Resident
Preferred 10 years of experience in productionenvironment/inventory management
Experience working in a production environment/inventorymanagement in mechanical/aerospace
Familiarity with Regulatory guidelines (DOT, ATF, DOL)
