Position Description

The Plumber I performs skilled plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance work at casino facilities. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Position Requirements


* Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Five (5) years' experience in commercial/residential plumbing required. Commercial experience preferred. Must have knowledge of state and local plumbing codes.
* Previous customer service experience preferred.
* Occasional travel is required.
* Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.

Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:

* Must possess excellent communication skills.
* Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
* Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
* Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

* Adequate manual dexterity to operate standard tools of the trade.
* Performs strenuous work requiring considerable arm pressure to turn wrenches and run snake through drains.
* Must be able to carry, set up, climb and descend ladders.
* Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and crawl through tight spaces of the casino.
* Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds of equipment
* Occasional travel required.
* Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
