Position Purpose:

Per Diem Radiation Therapist.

Job Description Details:

  • Looking for a Per Diem Radiation Therapist.

  • Assures compliance to Radiation Oncology’s radiation protection program.

  • Serves as the primary liaison between patients and other members of the radiation oncology team. Also provide a link to other health care providers, such as social workers and dietitians.

  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and an awareness of safety issues.

  • Remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of patients.

  • Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the radiation oncologist(s).

  • Display professional conduct essential to the well-being of the radiation oncology patient.

  • Demonstrate effective written communication skills; Maintain accurate and detailed electronic treatment chart documentation.

  • Demonstrate effective verbal communication skills in the clinical setting.

  • Observe the clinical progress of the radiation oncology patient, use clinical decision making skills to recognize and report any signs of complications.

  • Utilize treatment accessories to accurately reproduce all radiation treatments.

  • Adhere to NYSDOH, ARRT, and ACRO radiation safety protocols.
