Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Senior Managing Counsel, provides and coordinates executive-level support to facilitate the coordination of requests for legal assistance to the Office of General Counsel. Independently performs a variety of administrative staff support duties to include document and report preparation; researching, collection and analysis of information; managing calendar; maintaining filing systems; opening mail, screening incoming calls which requires determining appropriate course of action, responding to, and following up on requests; greeting visitors; and other duties as delegated. Performance of duties requires a range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures while maintaining a confidential environment. Maintains and promotes a cooperative, collaborative, customer-focused work environment and effective communication between the Office of General Counsel and Upstate's numerous internal constituents and members of the public. Serves as the first point of contact for the Office of General Counsel, representing the legal staff in a positive and highly professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years executive level administrative office experience or Associate's degree and five years executive level administrative office experience, plus excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, analytical, and organizational skills required. Computer literacy to include proficiency with GroupWise, Microsoft Suite (word processing and spreadsheets), teleconferencing and presentation software strongly preferred. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and ability to manage issues in a confidential nature requiring professional attitude, tact and diplomacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing legal administrative support and Notary Public License a plus.
