SUNY Upstate Medical University Coder in Syracuse, New York

Analyzes medical records to accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD10 CM/PCS and CPT-4 classification systems; abstracts information onto computer system. CCS or RHIT/RHIA or eligible required. Will also consider candidates enrolled in an accredited Health Information Management (HIM) program who have successfully completed anatomy, physiology and required coding courses as evidenced by an official transcript. RHIT/RHIA eligible candidates will be required to obtain certification within two years of graduating from HIM program. CCS must have certification at time hired and 2 years experience coding in an acute care facility.
