Job Summary:Serves as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider to provide care to patients requiring inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services. Provides psychiatric care to child and adolescent patients on the inpatient adolescent psychiatry unit (7W), the child psychiatry consult service (Child CL) and on-call services to the Emergency Department and Pediatric floors for new Child Psychiatry consults (On Call). Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care and coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care delivered. Will work 8 hours / weekend (rounding on 7W and Child CL) and 12 hours / week during the week (On Call). Observes and evaluates patients, orders appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies, arranges for referrals, testing, consultation and therapeutic services and maintains outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians and all members of the health care team.
NYS licensed/registered NP. Master's Degree as a Nurse Practitioner and current National Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required. Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN). Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
Experience with Pediatric Psychiatry preferred.
8 weekend hours (7W and child CL) and 12 weekday on call hrs (Child On-Call)
