Job Summary:

Provide administrative support for three University wide research compliance committees: 1. The Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects (IRBPHS). This committee reviews and oversees all research involving human subjects; 2. The Institutional BioSafety Committee (IBC). This committee reviews and oversees all research which involves the use of infectious agents, fresh human tissue, blood, or recombinant DNA; and 3. The Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee (SCRO).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Administration of the IBC, IRB & SCRO Committees:

  • Coordinate and set up site visits;

  • Manage databases & paper files;

  • Check training requirements through CITI and Blackboard;

  • Manage Meeting Schedules - create yearly meeting schedules and deadlines list;

  • Arrange for meeting rooms, manage meeting date changes, and coordinate lunch delivery and AV needs;

-Prepare and distribute meeting agendas,committee appointment letters, CV's, and update committee information on the Upstate webpage, maintain attendance sheets and GroupWise address book;

General:

  • Triage phone calls for the compliance office and provide faculty, CRA's, medical students and house staff with information about requirements, procedures and forms;

  • Coordinating educational seminars;

  • Track the completion of required training for investigators and study staff;

  • Coordinate with the Privacy Office, EH&S Office and the Office of Volunteer Programs;

  • Manage budgets, billing, purchasing and travel for Research Compliance;

  • Manage the Research Compliance website;

  • Conduct individual and group training sessions for investigators and CRA's on the electronic management system (IRBNet);

  • Provide assistance in all areas to the Chief Compliance Officer for Research.

  • Provide investigators with access to ClinicalTrials.gov

-Coordinate the "Minors in Research" program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree and three years of administrative experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus excellent customer

service, communication and computer skills required.

Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
