We are seeking a full-time Visitation Therapist for our Family Place Program, which provides safe opportunities for parents to engage in clinical services and parenting time with their children who are in foster care. This position offers:
Flexible hours with no weekend or on-call responsibilities.
Opportunity to gain licensure hours for clinical professions including: marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, and clinical social work.
Collaboration with many other community-based organizations and school programs in Onondaga County
Opportunity for leadership development and clinical training/education in areas of trauma-informed practice with a diverse population.
The Clinical Therapist is responsible for providing ongoing therapy as well as visitation oversight to program participants.

The Visitation Therapist is responsible for:
Providing ongoing clinical therapy to address issues such as mental health, substance use, domestic violence, trauma, or other issues that impact the safety and well-being of children and families.
Providing ongoing individual, couple, and family therapy to families as needed.
Providing comprehensive intake and evaluation of prospective clients.
Documenting observed behaviors and responses to treatment intervention.
Providing consultation and recommendations regarding each child's permanency plans and the family's overall treatment needs.
Providing expert testimony to courts and judiciaries regarding risk assessments.
Traveling to client homes when necessary.
Bachelor's degree with Master’s degree nearing completion.
MSW or Masters Degree in related field preferred.
Licensed professionals are encouraged to apply (LMFT, LMSW, LCSW, and LMHC).
Minimum of five years clinical experience required, strong background in family systems preferred.
Valid Driver's License that meets The Salvation Army's insurance requirements and access to a vehcile during work hours.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
