Boyd Corporation Assembler-2nd shift-Full Time* in Thermal - Niagara, New York

SUMMARY

Aavid Niagara, a Thermal Division of Boyd Corporation, located in Niagara Falls, NY has multiple full time openings for Assemblers. We manufacture high quality heat exchanges, liquid cold plates and high heat transfer fins along with Aavid’s wide portfolio of thermal management solutions. The Assembler will work on various operations to assembly cores for heat exchangers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs core assembly functions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”s)

  • Required to read and follow blueprints, worksheets or other instructions to handle and assemble various components used to craft cores for heat exchangers

  • Operates tooling or equipment to needed to perform assembly functions

  • Band completed cores

  • Maintain and report inventory quantity count

  • Inspect and record quality requirements of finished workpieces

  • Ensure work area is kept clean and organized at all times

  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with Aavid Niagara policies and procedures.

  • Provide feedback to management concerning possible problem or areas of improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). Relevant work experience preferred; one month related experience and/or training required; three months related experience/training preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, including blue prints used in the assembly/stack process, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw and apply valid conclusions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to utilize small hand tools for assembly and cleaning.
