Position Summary

Analyzes student recruitment, financial aid information, application and enrollment data to provide custom reports outlining critical information supporting college enrollment processes. Identifies opportunities for improvement in business strategies along with pricing recommendations about types of data necessary to make such improvements.

The analyst works closely with admissions leadership to understand their analytical needs, evaluate key performance metrics, and analyze trends, serving as a central source for operational and analytical reporting needs.

The analyst must have a strong working knowledge of relational database concepts, a solid background in statistics, demonstrated experience working with data, spreadsheets, data visualization tools, knowledge of research methods, familiarity with programming logic and concepts and broad comprehension of issues facing higher education.

Major Responsibilities

A. Creates models using statistical techniques for projecting the number of applicants and/or enrollment trends to provide ongoing recommendations for recruiting efforts, informing the annual enrollment planning and goal setting.

B. Provides required or requested information and/or data for internal or external reports and records. Creates data visualizations to illustrate patterns and trends with various college data.

C. Coordinates routine data cleanup processes.

D. Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.

E. Reviews budget and keeps Senor Vice President up to date on expenditures and balances monthly. Keeps accurate records of expenses and planned events. Prepares and/or completes standard multi-copy forms such as requisitions, vouchers, information cards, and associated form letters by performing keyboarding which requires accuracy, reviewing the completed documents for completeness and accuracy, and submitting the documents to the supervisor for approval or processing the documents according to established procedures. Processes all requisitions for department.

F. Takes an active role in the development of the department’s strategic and operational plans as required by department leadership. Works closely with department supervisor to develop and implement operational goals that support departmental success.

G. Responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators.

H Develops and administers the Admitted Student Questionnaire.

K Creates policies and procedures at the request of the Senior Vice President.

L. Other duties as assigned by Senior Vice President.

Education & Experience Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and preferred in business, mathematics or a related field. • Master’s degree preferred. • Moderate amount of experience working in enrollment management, statistical reporting or in other related work.

Minimum Skills/Abilities

• Pleasant and effective personal relations. • An innate sense for the ability to anticipate. • Demonstrated ability for accuracy and attention to detail. • Excellent database management skills. • Excellent communications skills. • Experience with highly confidential materials. • Ability to communicate with faculty, staff, senior administrators, trustees, college-age population and their parents. • Ability to accept periodic high volume workloads with occasional short deadlines necessary.
• Supervisory skills and the ability to train and/or review the work of others are required. • Proficient in MS Office Suite; report writing software; experience working with data from SIS, CRM, and ERP systems; experience using SPSS or SAS. • Must be able to work flexible hours if necessary.
