Robert Half Accountemps Payroll Supervisor/Manager in WHITE PLAINS, New York
Accountemps is looking for a Payroll Assistant Manager. This role ensures employees' earnings, deductions, taxes, and net pays are accurately and timely recorded and processed semi-monthly pay period according to IRS, States and DOL regulations. The Payroll Assistant Manager serves as the first point of contact for stakeholders' inquiries about pay, deductions, taxation and other payroll related questions.
Key Responsibilities: Process the multi-state end-to-end semi-monthly and out of sequence payrolls using ADP Workforce Now and Workday Payroll Changes systems Process the 401K contribution transfer from ADP Workforce Now to VOYA 401(K) System maintenance tasks for ADP Workforce Now, VOYA 401(K), Department (Cost Center) Changes and Payroll Email Inbox Perform tasks to establish, secure, maintain and organize the employees' payroll related information including scanning and filing the data into the company secured payroll drive and Iron Mountain records management vendor Support and produce various ADP and/or Excel payroll and agencies related report requests Research and ensure the company is in compliance with the payroll tax rules and regulations Process tax levies, child support orders, creditor garnishment, bankruptcy orders, and student loans collections Maintenance and update of a clear and comprehensive Payroll User Guide Technical skills: Solid multi-state payroll and benefits rules and regulations per IRS and States Strong organizational skills and ability to retain information Ability to ensure sensitive and confidential data is protected and critical need for discretion Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize Must be detail and results-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, self-directed and self-starter Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external customers/Exceptional Customer Service Excellent written and verbal communication skills Thinking: Responds quickly to requests with supporting information Links information to make sense of a problem and can describe the issue accurately Follows precedent and established practice to complete tasks using guidelines and reference manuals Offers their suggestions when referring decision to others Independent thinker, creative and analytical problem solver and able to work with minimal supervision Influence: Is comfortable offering own views or opinions in meetings Presents a professional Hiscox image/value Able to develop rapport easily with others and maintain a professional conversation Earns respect by being reliable, dependable and showing an interest in the business they are supporting Energy: Achieves results by having a clear to do list or plan Manages personal time well and delivers agreed aims and goals Implements defined process or procedures excellently Volunteers to help others and looks to support people in the wider team Computer System skills: ADP Workforce Now, ADP GL Ledger and ADP Reports Exposure to the Workday or other HRIS system is a plus VOYA 401(K) system or equivalent 401(K)/Pension plan system ADI/AsureForce Time and Attendance or equivalent time management system Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration or finance or the equivalent Experience: At least 5 years in payroll and benefits experience Payroll Accounting is a plus
